Psalm of My Heart

In my brokenness

I walk upright

Because he made my body to house the light.

The wind sweeps the hair off my shoulder

The sun glistens upon my collar bones.

I am loved because he said so.

His word is truth, dipped in honey.

Sweet to my soul

even when it stings.

Let my words be yours.

How your lips must shine like diamonds,

without deceit on them.

Unworthy as I am, he clothed me in

Soft garments.

Counted each brittle hair on my head,

each blemish on my skin,

and called me lovely.

When darkness covered my body like a cloke,

he lifted my chin

Told me my worth

exceeded troves of rubies.

Now your presence envelops me oh Lord.

How blessed am I to hold even a single photon of your light…

For once I beheld your presence,

Nothing in the spectrum of eternity compared.
